Rose appreciates IDOT’s help for Edgar County
State Sen. Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) says he is pleased the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has moved quickly to re-bid the high school road project in Paris as quickly as it did, after the first bid was kicked out due to errors in the bidding.
“We have some critical infrastructure and safety needs in Edgar County that I have been working closely on with IDOT,” Rose said. “This is a critical project so students can travel to and from school safely.”
Also, a culvert crossing on the Horace-Brocton Road in Edgar County will be replaced, as part of IDOT’s Multi-Year Construction Program that was announced this week.
“This is good news for Edgar County, especially those in our agriculture community,” Rose said. “The Horace-Brocton Road culvert needs a serious upgrade so it can handle the weight of trucks traveling to and from elevators in the area, and handle heavy farm equipment. This culvert will allow all those who use this road to pass safely, and benefit all of Edgar County agriculturally and economically,” Rose said. “I want to thank IDOT for working quickly to get this project on their list. Governor Rauner has been very responsive to the needs of downstate Illinois, especially when it comes to the safety and economic impact of our communities, and these two road projects are proof of that.”
